Critical Hit is an experimental video game incubator that has run three cohorts since 2013. Up and coming game developers from all over could apply to take part in an 8 week program.

Out of over 100 applicants, I was among the 16 selected for the 2014 program. There, I acted as a designer and programmer on four different prototypes, one of which was fully developed into Spacebro Justice Rocket.

Below you can find information on the three other projects.

What the heck is Infinite Soccer?

What isn't Infinite Soccer?

This game is basically soccer across an infinite number of soccer fields without all the pesky rules but all of the fun of ice cream.

Infinite soccer is a game for 2 or 4 players. Each team tries to claim as many fields as possible by bringing the ball to the center to increase their score multiplier. The bigger the multiplier, the more points to get when you score!

Use the left stick to move and the A button to kick! (Controllers Required)

Will you partake in victory?

Action stars always seem to pull off amazing stunts, but they would be nowhere without special effects.

GREEN SCREEN TEAM casts you and your friends as the invisible crew working behind the scenes to make the star look great.

Lift them, pose them, hold them in mid air! No effect is impossible for the Green Screen Team!

Green Screen Team was a conceptual prototype for the Microsoft Kinect motion controller.

Using the device's skeleton detection, we were able to map a character onto one player while keeping the rest hidden, as if through green screen effect.

The "invisible" players could then help pose the actor in impossible ways, like lifting them above their heads to mimic flying.

The world was utopic, once…

Now, as the shadow of the dying star grows ever closer to our planet, our scientists have assured us that if all four nations pool their resources together, we could construct one massive ship with which to escape the armageddon. The only problem, however, is that the ship would only be large enough to fit one country’s people.

Without each other, we will not survive…
With each other, we will not survive…

The F.O.U.R. is a game of diplomacy in reverse.

Take control of one of four countries, the Ferrous Empire, Oceanic Federation, United Agrarian Territories, or the Republic of Naphthalia, who begin as allies and work together to complete the great ship, but never forget that when the dying star arrives, only one nation will escape to safety.

Try to keep the peace so that you will be elected to go forth into the stars, or build a massive army to take your salvation by force.

The choices are yours. Either way, the dying star will arrive in 20 weeks to obliterate whoever remains.
